Thinking of grabbing some Bali beach time in December? Then it’s handy to know beforehand that it’s right in the middle of monsoon.
Bali is known for being a tropical paradise but the word tropical needs to be underlined. Even though you’ll find great average temperatures between 26 to 32 degrees celsius, December also has a spike in rainfall and humidity.
In December, Bali’s monsoon arrives and the skies will often be overcast and most days will have at least some rainfall. At 85%, humidity is at one of its highest levels for the year. But even faced with these conditions you can expect long sunny periods and enough sunshine to work on your tan or comfortably swim and enjoy water sports.
Don’t Sweat the Tan
And once it rains, it’s rarely for long and the sunshine soon returns. You are likely to find showers can coincide with an afternoon siesta, or alternatively Bali has become famous as a foodie destination. So a leisurely coffee or meal at one of the many great cafes and restaurants is a great way to shelter from watery skies.
